Gifts in Wills

Create a living legacy

After caring for the people you love, a gift in your Will can help Terra Nova reconnect people with Earth, grow the next generation of changemakers and turn regenerative ideas into practical, lasting change.

Let what matters to you live on

Looking after family and friends comes first. Once you have provided for those closest to you, you may choose to reflect your love for Earth and the future in your Will.

For many people, a gift follows a lifetime of caring about the environment or expresses the values they want to carry forward. You do not need to be wealthy. A gift of even a small percentage of what remains in your estate can make a meaningful difference and will naturally adjust if the value of your estate changes.

Your gift can help Terra Nova rebuild connection between people and the living world, equip changemakers and bring practical regenerative solutions to life for the generations that follow.

Planting possibility for generations to come

A gift in a Will is one way to carry a deep connection with Earth forward, creating possibility for people and places we may never know ourselves.

“Like planting a tree whose shade you may never sit beneath, a gift in your Will can help create lasting positive change for generations to come.”

What your living legacy could make possible

A gift in your Will can give Terra Nova the flexibility to respond to future needs while advancing the three connected areas at the heart of its work.

Grow the next generation of changemakers

Help purpose-driven people build the skills, confidence and community to turn ideas into real-world impact. Future gifts could help Terra Nova’s learning, mentoring and practical action reach more changemakers.

Help organisations act for Earth

Support organisations to align decisions, operations and impact with the wellbeing of people and planet. Future gifts could support tools, expertise, recognition and networks that move Earth-positive practice into the mainstream.

Make regenerative futures real

Turn regenerative thinking into practical, replicable models that benefit communities and all living beings. Future gifts could help demonstrate what large-scale regeneration looks like in practice and share the learning more widely.

Choose a gift that suits your wishes

There are several ways to include a charitable gift in a Will. The right option depends on your wishes, your estate and the people you want to provide for. A solicitor or qualified Will-writing service can help you choose wording that is appropriate for you.

A percentage of your residuary estate

You can leave all or a percentage of what remains in your estate after debts, expenses and gifts to loved ones have been provided for. Because it is a proportion rather than a fixed amount, it can adjust as the value of your estate changes.

A fixed amount

You can leave a nominated sum of money. It is worth reviewing this amount over time so it continues to reflect your wishes and the changing value of money.

A specific asset

You may be able to leave a particular asset, such as shares or property. Specific gifts can be more complex to administer, so please seek legal advice and speak with Terra Nova before including an asset you intend the Foundation to receive or use.

Make or update your Will in the way that suits you

The best option is the one that reflects your circumstances and gives you confidence that your wishes are clear.

Making or updating a Will is an important personal decision. It helps protect the people you care about and ensures your wishes are understood. Some people prefer to work with a solicitor, particularly where family arrangements, trusts, businesses, overseas assets or other circumstances are complex. Others may prefer the convenience of an online Will-writing platform for a straightforward Will. Both approaches can be valid.

Work with a solicitor

A solicitor can provide advice tailored to your circumstances, explain the effect of different gift types and make sure your Will works with the rest of your estate planning.

Use Terra Nova’s online Will pathway

Terra Nova currently offers access to a free online Will through EveryWill for people whose needs are straightforward. The service guides you through the process step by step, and there is no obligation to include a gift to Terra Nova.

Independent advice

Terra Nova Foundation does not provide legal advice. We encourage you to seek independent advice and to review your Will whenever your life, family or financial circumstances change.
